Excellent achievement - I'd love to do something like this when I get back into shape (which I've now started). However, till then I want to do a Paris - London cycle with the Mr. and see how that goes.

I loved every bit of it and I can relate to the pain. Don't think, don't think, don't think, don't think about anything...just don't think. It's so simple, yet so hard at the same time. Thinking about things is your ego screaming and kicking for attention.

Congratulations for the swim, even though it was in a pool - the setting matters less, although I agree it plays a big part in motivation..next time you go there you'll feel much better for it. Like, 'I've conquered you, pool. That's right. There's nothing you can throw at me now that'll scare me.'

Well done. I need to correct you on something though - I wasn't in hospital. This is Germany and there are specialists and things so I was just at the doctors.

I loved reading this. It's brilliantly written and you should be very, very proud of yourself.

We should compare notes at Interesting North.

Thankyou both.
Marcus I stand corrected - and coming from you, praise for decent writing is praise indeed
Andrea, I have a sneaky feeling it conquered me
