I'm probably too young to know any better but I do like the "brutal simplicity of thought" thing. Reminds me of the quote around I'd have written a shorter letter but I didn't have the time. Good way to kybosh intellectual wankiness too I would think.

I don't disagree that simplicity is a useful discipline, but I think the point I was trying to make is that what MC does isn't really that different to anyone else, agency processes are just shiny veneers to the same approach.
NB one needs to be careful in the quest to singlmindedness that one doesn't throw out the stuff that's interesting. I've often thought that compression is a more useful word than simplicity
